Hi, I’m Chitra.

I’m a generalist and a nerd.

I like taking hard problems out of research, deploying them in the real world, watching all the assumptions break, and figuring out how to create real $$ value from them.

I’m hiring

I’m hiring a full-time Applied AI Engineer to join in October 2026. We have hundreds of GB of data coming in every day.

The role is heavy on real-world AI engineering: infrastructure, inference, training, evaluations, and product. The work spans medical imaging and radiology reports (text data), but it is not something you can just vibe-code. We work closely with radiologists to simplify their lives.

There is a lot of systems work and a lot of product work. In the age of AI, I’m looking for someone who can own an end-to-end pipeline and make changes across the whole platform, from AI to backend to frontend.

If you’re reading this and are interested, please fill out this short form, and I’ll try to get back to you.

What I’ve worked on

I’ve gone deep into AI (training, inference, and losses), hardcore engineering, product, and design. Verticals excite me: I’ve worked across medical, manufacturing, entertainment, and security.

I’ve been through zero-to-one and one-to-ten journeys at deep-tech startups of different stages and funding rounds, including Medsee, which I started in August 2025.

More recently, beyond engineering and product, I’ve enjoyed the business side of both B2B and B2C: selling, marketing, running campaigns, raising money to build a business, and then making money to run it.

I’m an Emergent Ventures (EV) Fellow, part of lossfunk (the most fun AI place in BLR), and an SPC member.

What I want to build

My dream is to build an AI radiologist. I believe images are one of our most powerful tools for understanding the human body, and that we have only scratched the surface of their potential for early diagnosis.

Outside work

I mostly take photographs. I shoot my favourite metal and R&B bands (@shutter.gigs), some weddings (@shoot_me_wed), and mostly street photography while travelling (@kodachrome_chitra).

My goal for this year is to start with small hikes and prepare for bigger trails next year.

Find me

📍 I live in Bangalore. You can often find me drinking coffee in cafés. ☕

These days, I spend more time on Twitter than LinkedIn. It feels like there are more genuine conversations happening there; LinkedIn often feels like bots talking to one another. That said, LinkedIn is still one of the best places for founder-led sales.
